This is where Business Empowered began in 2010. Mel and Mona Ponder had a vision to empower believers in the Marketplace and they launched this effort with the desire to see people that love God succeed in their businesses in a financial way, but also in a ministerial way. Business Empowered in the Emerald Coast now has over 200 members and partners that have developed an amazing community of people that are hungry for God, want to make a difference in their community and are prospering at what they do. DestinLeaders: Mel and Mona PonderDestin is a beautiful community located in the Emerald Coast. Known as the "Luckiest Fishing Village in the World," Destin has grown tremendously in the last 10 years booming in many business sectors. Where fishing was once the main economical engibe of the area, tourism, real estate, offices, and retail are not also extreme job creators and income generators to many families. Business Empowered first started in Destin and it is now expanding to over 5 communities in the South East. We seek to equip business leaders with Kingdom principles that will help each person be effective, successful, relevant, and transformational in their areas of work.Fort Walton BeachLeaders: Mel Ponder and Jonathan SamsonFort Walton Beach, although also located in the Emerald Coast, is a much diverse city than Destin. The main economic generator here is driven by two major U.S. Airforce bases; Eglin Airforce Base and Hulburt Field. That means the economy does not necessarily rely on the tourist season to boom. This city is far more populated than Destin and it also more variety in people socially. We seek to equip business leaders with Kingdom principles that will help each person be effective, successful, relevant, and transformational in their areas of work.
South WaltonLeader: Santiago RodriguezSouth Walton is famous for its beautiful beaches located in the historic Highway 30-A. This is another community that has seen explosive growth in the last decade. South Walton used to consist of a small town with two main beach communities in Seaside and Seagrove and then the Sandestin resort; but now it has grown tremendously to many beautiful beach communities that have drawn many people from all over the United States. We seek to equip business leaders with Kingdom principles that will help each person be effective, successful, relevant, and transformational in their areas of work.
